Agilent became independent from parent
company Hewlett Packard on 2 June, 2000 as part of a corporate
realignment. Agilent was first listed as a public company
on the New York Stock Exchange on 18 November, 1999. At that
time, Agilents $2.1 billion initial public offering
of stock was the largest in Silicon Valley history.
In Australia & New Zealand, Agilent
employs more than 350 people across Melbourne, Sydney, Wellington
and Auckland.
Agilents presence in Australia includes substantial
Research and Development, Manufacturing operations, Life Sciences
and Chemical Analysis & Electronic Measurements Group with our New Zealand site focusing primarily in Sales,
Customer and Service Support.
- Data Networks Division
The Data Networks Division in Melbourne is the global headquarters
for a rapidly growing segment of leading edge test equipment
for the communications industry and are one of the biggest
electronic exporters in Australia. More than 120 employees
are dedicated to research and development, manufacturing
and marketing products worldwide.
- Test & Measurement
The Test & Measurement business addresses the needs
of companies in the semiconductor, electronics, communications
and related industries. It provides testing solutions that
include test instruments and systems, software design tools and
electronic monitoring and management tools.
- Life Sciences & Chemical Analysis
The Life Sciences & Chemical Analysis Group is a leading
provider of analytical instrument systems that enable customers
to identify, quantify, analyse, and test the atomic, molecular,
physical and biological properties of thousands of substances
and products.
